I love a good tip to make my time in the kitchen to be more productive, easier and tastier. A few years ago I created a weekend series of kitchen tips. Here I’ve compiled all of those tips in one place. Some are quick videos, some include things you can download and use in your kitchen. If you count there are only 18 listed and I promised 20. So here are your first two tips:
1. When the seasons change so does the foods available and usually what we eat. This also requires different kitchen tools and equipment. Take this time now that we have moved well into fall and sort through your kitchen. Clear out your pantry, countertops, refrigerator tops, kitchen drawers and cabinets. Wherever you keep your tools and equipment and get rid of anything you have not used in years. It’s doubtful you will. Make sure things like roasting pans and soup pots are close by so you can roast up those root vegetables or toss them into the soup pot.
2. This is also the time to make sure you have everything you need for your holiday cooking. Don’t wait until Thanksgiving morning. Are you trying a new recipe that will require a new tool? If so go looking for it now. What tools make your job easier for Thanksgiving?
If you have a question or area you would like a good kitchen tip about, please ask and if I don’t know I’ll find someone who does!

Thanks for the wonderful reminders, Diane! Shifting gears for the seasons is certainly one of my favorites, but they are all great. 🙂

Thank you Shirley. Happy Thanksgiving.
Great list of tip resources!! And I am like you guys. I always love to shift gears and get ready for the new season. This is my favorite one to prep for. I just love the winter foods and the fact that I get to use my oven without getting in trouble for heating up the house! 😉
Kim I would not yell at you for using the oven especially with all the great things you make.
Will you come helpe purge things I never use in the pantry and kitchen? I seem to have trouble letting go. Lol! In all seriousness, these are great tips! Happy thanksgiving!
Alta sure thing. I'll be right over. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks for the list, I will make sure that with season change i shift gears.
