Friday Foodie Fix- Crab

Friday Foodie Fix

Well here it is.  One of my favorite foods in the whole world to eat and it’s this week’s Secret Ingredient for Friday Foodie Fix.  You would think that since it’s my favorite I would eat it a lot more than I do.  If you would like to learn more about crabs and which type is the best for crab cakes, read my post on Gluten Free Crab Cakes, Coleslaw and Old Bay Potato Wedges.   Now if you like your crab in a soup, try my Mexican Seafood Soup or Cioppino.  But my favorite new way to eat crab is either on a Crabby Veggie Pizza or my Old Bay Crab Hash Eggs Benedict.  OK, so I had more crab recipes than I thought.  Here’s a tip if you have any leftover crab cakes.  They are perfect stuffing for a nice filet of fish.  Wrap the filet around the crab cake, add a little dab of butter and bake.  I have one left in the freezer waiting for me.

Now it’s your turn to share  your recipes with Crab.  Please be mindful and link back to this post.  For more info and ALL of the past Secret Ingredients, go to the Friday Foodie Fix page.

Next week’s Secret Ingredient is …………. Peaches!

Diane, I totally planned on posting a crab recipe this week, but my store was all out of King's Crab Legs, and when I went to Whole Foods I just could not swallow paying $21.95/lb for them! Yikes!!! (Crab is hard to come by in the middle of the AZ desert, LOL). Anyway, all set for next Friday's Secret Ingredient – my kids have been obsessed with peaches lately!!
