Friday Foodie Fix
Today’s Secret Ingredient for Friday Foodie Fix is Arugula! I love that peppery little green leaf. If you happen to plant one in your garden be ready to be showered with lots of great harvests. I planted on little plant last year and it spread like crazy and we were overflowing with arugula.
You will often hear Arugula called Rocket, especially if you watch Jamie Oliver’s show Jamie at Home. He has more creative ways to use this little gem that are so tasty. I like to add it to salads, sandwiches, pastas, and make pesto with it. It was part of my Pesto Shrimp on Polenta Portobellos and Salad with Champagne Dijon Vinaigrette.

Great ingredient this week! I love to mix arugula in my salad greens, or I've found that it's peppery flavor works well in a yummy pesto too. This week I'm sharing a quick sautéed dish with spinach and goat cheese that I like to make 🙂
I love arugula. I love how it adds a peppery bite to the simplest dishes. This week I linked to my grass-fed beef pasta dish with fresh rosemary, mushrooms and arugula!
I'm a fan of arugula, too. Heck, I just like saying it. It's a fun word. 😉 But, I have no recipes to link up right now. I have one planned though, so we'll see how long it takes me to actually get around to making it. I'll link up for sure. The other entries sound great. I've already checked out Kim's Chopped Salad, which I must make for my next gathering. Must revisit your Pesto Shrimp recipe, too! 🙂
Thanks for hosting the Friday Foodie Fix, Diane!

Shirley- Yes it is fun to say arugula. Next year I'm going to put a vegetable garden right in my front yard where it is sunny and grow arugula and a bunch more.
