Quick and easy with great summer farmer market ingredients is on tap for this week, plus freezer finds. This weekend I picked up some great berries, cherries, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow summer squash, cucumbers, onions, rainbow Swiss chard, green beans and potatoes. That will make some great meals.
I love going to the farmers market. You get to talk with the people that are growing the food you eat. You are surrounded by the most beautiful and vibrant colors of nature. The possibilities of recipes start racing through my mind as I wander along. I hope you are visiting your local farmers market. If you’re not sure where the closest one is located, on the far right side of this blog scroll down and you can use the Farmers Market Finder.

The only thing bad about us going away on vacation or camping is missing our local farmers' market. It's a feel good, treat for the senses, inspiring kind of place for sure! Love that photo. 🙂
Reading your meal plan has me going: oh, yeah; hmmm, I need to check that out; and yum, I want to try that one … per usual. 😉 Have a great week, Diane!

Shirley- You are so funny. That was the strangest sentence and what's even more strange is I understood it. 🙂
Thanks for the shout-out, Diane. I appreciate it and must admit that I'm already starting to think of more cherry recipes for CSA fruit season (starts a little later in the Rockies). I get bombarded with the most wonderful, organic cherries starting about mid-July. Right now, we're working our way through tons of spinach and lettuce greens. Parsley and cilantro. I've been eating spinach non-stop. Your photo is wonderful! I love the colors.
I also frittatas, especially with farm-fresh eggs. Good mix of recipes, Diane!

Melissa- I can't wait to see your cherry recipes. I do love cherries. I want to use them in more savory dishes and not just the sweet.
LOVE. "I also LOVE frittatas."
When will I learn to proofread BEFORE I push send, rather than after?
=)
Melissa- Now that wouldn't be as interesting. I'll add in what I forgot below, I too love the farm fresh eggs. They are hands down the best tasting eggs I've ever eaten. If you do buy some from the grocery store, make sure they are organic. But try for farm first.
