This week’s Secret Ingredient for Friday Foodie Fix is clementines. A clementine is a cross between a mandarin and a bitter seedless orange. I love these little treats. They usually show up in the winter but make me feel like it’s summer. The skin is loose and easy to peel. They are a beautiful red-orange color and usually a seedless juicy citrus bursting with flavor.

Friday Foodie Fix
We eat a crate a week at my house. Especially now that my youngest has decided he likes them. I love that they are easy to peel. However don’t make my mistake of thinking with such an easy peel, I can snack on them in the car. Did I mention they are juicy?
Clementines are wonderful in salads, especially a spinach salad. I had planned to make one this week to share but my plans were changed. Instead I’m going to rely on you to share your ideas on how to use Clementines. Feel free to use Mr. Linky to share a link with your original recipe that included Clementines. You can also share your ideas via the comments section. For all of the rules and past Secret Ingredients, visit the Friday Foodie Fix page.
Next week’s Secret Ingredient is ……………………………. beans!

Linking up my Double-Chocolate Clementine Cake recipe, Diane. The good news is you can safely eat it in the car! LOL And, with being gf, df, and including almond flour as well, it's practically 100% healthy, right? 😉
Love the photo of the Clementines! Happy Friday, my dear!
