Friday Foodie Fix – Red or Green Peppers

Friday Foodie Fix

Friday Foodie Fix

This week’s Secret Ingredient for Friday Foodie Fix is Peppers.  Red or green or both. According to Wikipedia:  The term “bell pepper” is the American name for some fruits of the Capsicum annuum species of plants. The misleading name “pepper” (pimiento in Spanish) was given by Christopher Columbus upon bringing the plant back to Europe. At that time peppercorns, the fruit of Piper nigrum, an unrelated plant, were a highly prized condiment.

bell peppers Peppers have been a favorite of mine for many years.  My first memories of eating peppers was both in the Pepper Steak Stir-Fry and Stuffed Peppers made with rice, beef and tomato sauce.

What are your first memories of peppers?  I hope you will also share your pepper recipes here with Mr. Linky.  For all of the rules please visit the Friday Foodie Fix page.

Also, I hope you will visit the links others have shared.  This can be a great resource.  If you read a fellow food bloggers posts, please let them know about our Friday Foodie Fix.  Everyone is invited to share their original recipes.
