Monthly Menu Plan -July

HP & HBP poster

This is a very exciting month for me.  I will get to vacation back in California and the next Harry Potter Movie, The Half Blood Prince,  will be in theaters on July 15th.  Of course I already have my tickets for July 14th  12:01 am showing, which I guess is actually the 15th.  I’ll be there wearing one of my Harry Potter shirts but I’ll leave my wand home.  It really helps me out in the kitchen.  You don’t think I could dream up all of these original recipes and cook all of this food without a little magic, do you?  I have a lot of help between the house elves and a wand, cook’s best friends.

I hope you are planning some fun outings this month.  We have our national holiday, kids are out from school (well mine is taking a math course for credit), it’s mostly sunny and getting warm and the farms are harvesting great crops.  I just love the summer.  I’m hoping to take a trip north when I’m in CA and head over to the Santa Monica farmers market.  Check out Karina’s Kitchen for info on the market and a whole slew of recipes great for celebrating the 4th of July.

I hope you enjoy this month’s menu.  As always let me know if you try any of the recipes.  Take a photo and I’ll post it on the recipe!

Linda- You can find these treats in Harry Potter's world. Too bad we can't get the real ones here.

I love Harry Potter, too. Maybe not as much as you – but I love the books. Thanks for sharing your monthly fare, Harry Potter meals and all. Have fun at the movie!

Amy- Yes I'm a huge fan who embarrasses my kids regularly. The books are amazing and I've read them 3 or 4 times now. I'm currently reading the Canadian version of The Half Blood Prince. Some words are different but not much. I want to get as many different versions as I can. Hope you get to the movie too.

I just want to be invited over for dinner! I was looking at your list to see how many times bacon was included. 😉 All the menus sound terrific.

Okay, we've been kindred spirits all along, but we have to part company re: Harry. You'll have to Muggle alone (if that even makes sense). LOL Enjoy though!

Shirley- I do love bacon. I'm sure my next ALCAT will say I need to drop it for 6 months again so I'm enjoying it now just in case. However, if it's something that my body is not tolerating, it's out of here. No mercy. ALCAT always makes me feel great.

Have you read any of the Harry Potter books? They are so much better than the movies. Movies are Great, but there is so much more in the books. And just to clarify, you're a Muggle too unless you are a witch and can perform magic which may be the case. I've read your blog!

What a clever idea, to make a menu plan for a whole month! I should try this, for real…it must save sooo much time at the grocery store!
