Friday Foodie Fix –Strawberries

Friday Foodie Fix

Friday Foodie Fix

Wow this week went fast.  It’s already time for us to get our Friday Foodie Fix.  This week’s secret ingredient is strawberries.  Strawberries are packed with fiber, potassium essential vitamins and phytochemicals.  One serving of strawberries – about 8 strawberries – is an excellent source of vitamin C.  In fact, a serving of strawberries provides more vitamin C than an orange!  If you just can’t get enough info on strawberries head out to California for the Health Berry Benefit Symposium.

Check out the California Strawberry Commission for a Strawberry Weights & Conversions chart.

This week I took my strawberries and created a great tasting Strawberry Margarita.  Tasty and full of great fruit and not all of that syrupy sweet liqueur.  So what did you create with your strawberries?  Use Mr. Linky to link to your post on Strawberries for this week’s Friday Foodie Fix.  To review the rules check here.

If you frequent blogs that create their own recipes too please pass along this blog carnival.  It would be great to have as many recipes as we can share.  They do not need a personal invitation from me but if you think that would help I’m happy to invite them.  Don’t forget if your recipes are gluten free or dairy free please note that.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your recipe and you'll see why when you read my post. LOL Thanks for all the great info … that and your drink might help my "transition." What a cute photo!

We love strawberries and can't get enough of them. One of my fav gluten free vegan ways to enjoy them is in strawberry lemonade and granita. So refreshing!

Sorry, I don't have a recipe for today… the only way I eat strawberries is unadorned! I can't really call that a recipe! But, I will think of next week's artichoke theme.

Wow look at all of those delicious strawberry recipes. I didn't get a chance to post anything to my blog, strawberries are just not quite in season here yet.
I do have a gluten-free strawberry shortcake recipe that I posted the recipe section of my website ages ago (www.wholelifenutrition.net) – maybe that could work?

Sorry I didn't get a chance to join you on Friday, especially since strawberries are one of my favorite foods! We just got our first ones at the market yesterday, so I'm sharing a recipe from last summer. Look forward to checking out the other recipes.
