Gluten Free Thought-Full Thursdays – You’re Never Too Old

One of my son’s favorite meals for dinner is breakfast.  Buckwheat pancakes with bacon and scrapple.  Yes both!  I have to say that I also enjoy that for dinner.  That started me thinking, what foods or meals are we never too old to eat?  What do you like to eat now that you liked to eat as a kid?  For me I enjoy Blueberry Ice Cream for breakfast.   Don’t act so surprised, it’s just like eating frozen yogurt and people eat yogurt for breakfast all the time.

So, what is it?  What are you never too old to eat?  Share your favorites in the comments area and don’t worry, no one will know.  It can be our little secret.

I'm a fan of dessert for breakfast myself. But I will always induldge in coloured popcorn or fairy bread! [coloured sprinkles on bread] I don't think you can ever be too old for kids party food!

Ha so when my sister-in-law brought us peanut butter a few weeks ago, the first thing my husband and I did was make "ants-on-a-log", which I haven't been served to eat since probably 1st grade. Basically you just take a stick of celery, fill it with peanut butter, and add raisins on top to look like little "ants". It's a random combination of flavors, and totally kid food, but oh so delicious – I'm never too old for it!

I have always loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Now, of course, it's more of a treat, as gluten-free bread is expensive (even if I make it myself), but a good PB&J just hits the spot every once in a while. And sliced banana in cold cereal. I was never fond of cold cereal as a kid, probably because we had it ALL the time for breakfast. But now, since I have to go out of my way to buy something gluten-free, cold cereal is also a treat. Gluten-free cornflakes with sliced banana? Sometimes, it's the simple things that I took for granted as a child that now please me!
