Shirley- I'm not a cooked cabbage person but this does not have that strong cabbage flavor thanks to the pork and tomatoes. You can also substitute beef brisket, pork loin or any other inexpensive meat that tastes best cooked low and slow.

After I make stuffed cabbage rolls my husband takes the rest of the cabbage and makes this with the rice mixed in. He calls it Lazy Days Cabbage Rolls. Because we are avid hunters we use ground venison for our meat. I also mix in some hamburger to help hold it together because venison is so lean it will just fall apart!

It looks good, Diane! I like the fact that pork is involved ... love the flavor that pork adds. I've never been too keen on soups that just have ground beef as the meat (with chili being the exception). I only recently found out that I even like cooked cabbage in soups! LOL

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Love that shamrock plant. :-)
