Alisa- Can't wait to see what you have in store for cauliflower. It's a new vegetable I added last year and I'm looking for lots of ways to eat it.

Shirley- So glad to hear no remedies were needed. It sounds like Key West was great. I love your new year meal, well until you go to the black-eyed peas. I've not taking a liking to those yet. Maybe some day. I certainly ate new things last year. Happy New Year!

Iris- Love your culinary resolution. We all could eat a little healthier. I'm not sure there is such a thing as too healthy, is there?

New Year's Day has traditionally been a meal of ham, mashed potatoes, peas, black-eyed peas, and the usual round of desserts in our family. This double-chocolate Clementine cake is a transistional dessert, so to speak. Gluten free, grain free, and dairy free, it is also healthier because of the almond flour used and the Clementines. It's not 100% healthy, but it's a start. ;-)

I'm happy to report that there was no need for hangover food this year or even in the past week in Key West. There was the possibility when Son ordered that bottle of champagne with our last dinner. Thankfully, I enjoyed without overindulging. ;-)

Happy New Year to you, Diane, and to everyone else as well!
