Weekend Kitchen Tip – Crockpot Cooking

This weekend your kitchen tip is all about how to use your crockpot and is brought to you by Stephanie O’Dea.  Stephanie is known as the crockpot lady and has just published a cookbook, Make It Fast, Cook It Slow- The Big Book of Everyday Slow Cooking.  I like that the cookbook also says it’s Easy-To-Make * Healthy * Gluten-Free * Inexpensive and Delicious.  I just got my hands on this book and it looks like that is just what is in there.

I’ve made some of Stephanie’s recipes before and they tasted great.  Stephanie decided in 2008 that she would use her crockpot every day of the year, and she did!  You can find her experience on her blog, A Year of Slow Cooking and in her new book.

I was also fortunate enough to meet Stephanie at the BlogHer Food Conference and spend some time talking with her.  She is just as delightful in person and you find her personality on her blog.  She is a real joy to be around.  I’m not sure if I ever thanked her for getting me back to my crockpot and using it.  It is such a wonderful kitchen tool and it was something I had on a shelf somewhere getting dusty.  Now I use it a lot!  It really does save me time and money.

Stephanie also has another blog, Totally Together Journal.  It’s great information on how to simplify your busy household day by day.  There is also lots of great info on life in general and specifically. Now she has a brand new blog, Totally Together Reviews where she does reviews and giveaways.  Wow, she must be totally together to get all of that done!

So here are some crockpot tips from Stephanie O’Dea.  I hope you will check out her book and her blogs!
