5 Minute Guacamole Everyone Loves

This is very quick and easy and everyone always asks me for the recipe.  It must taste difficult to make because in reality, it’s not.

Ingredients:

2 large ripe Haas Avocados (dark and soft, not mushy)
½ red onion diced
Large handful of fresh cilantro chopped
Celtic Sea Salt & Pepper
2 limes
½ orange
1-3 diced jalapenos (if want spicy) membrane and seeds taken out.   Remember to always smack your hands across each other under running COLD water to get the oils off your hands.  Never use hot water as the oils will enter your skin creating a weapon that could really hurt depending on what you touch.  Adding these will add to the prep time.

Directions:

Slice the avocado in half then use your knife to grab the pit with a quick downward cleave.  Give it a twist and the pit should come out clean.  Use the thumb that is holding the knife to slide the pit off of the knife.

Scoop out the avocado into a bowl.  Add the onion, cilantro, jalapenos and juice the limes and orange on top.  Then mash the mix.  Add salt and pepper to taste.

Always taste before serving.

Having the right tools is important too.  Here is my favorite avocado scoop and masher!  I purchased it at Sur la Table. When I went searching for this tool so I could direct you in case you also wanted to purchase one it was almost impossible to find online. So I called my local Sur La Table store in Tyson’s Corner (yeah I know, how lucky am I) and talked with Chris. He was great! He gave me the item number #551705 and the national phone number for Sur La Table 1-800-243-0852. He also said we could call his store 703-749-1125. These tools are inexpensive and wonderful. You can scoop out the avocado and not leave anything behind.
