Gluten Free & Allergy Free-eat at your own risk

The best way to keep up on all the news on food is to follow different blogs.  I have found so many great ones on living the allergy free life.  You can find links to them to your left.  When you see the same story pop up on multiple blogs you take notice.  Here is one that you don’t want to miss.

The Chicago Tribune ran an article titled Children at risk in the food roulette.  This is extremely disturbing for anyone living with food allergies and intolerances.   Read through the whole story and form your own opinions.  But of course I’ll offer up mine.  In both the article and their response, in my opinion, it shows a total disregard for others health from Wellshire Farms.  When will these companies figure out that we are very protective of the ones we love, our health and theirs?  If they had a child with an anaphylactic reaction to wheat I wonder if they would feed them Wellshire Kids’ Dinosaur Shapes Chicken Bites?

Delightfully Gluten Free blog has started a letter writing campaign to Wellshire Farms and I think that sounds like a good idea.  It is important that they hear from us and not just a vote of no confidence by not buying their products.  If you are interested and want to see a sample letter, check out the one on Delightfully Gluten Free.  The address is included to Wellshire Farms so you can create your own letter if you prefer.  I would like to suggest that your letter not just be condemning but also educating so hopefully they will truly address the problem.  To view Wellshire Farms response ,check out the Living Green, Gluten Free, Life in General blog.

I would love to hear what you think about this.  If you would like to share please click the word Comment below and let her rip!
