Gluten Free Flat bread – I’m In Love!

flatbread3

Over the past month I’ve been gathering all the pieces needed to make gluten free flat bread.  Last night it all came together and I fell in love.

First I purchased Breads From Anna® Gluten Free Bread Mix- Gluten, Yeast, Corn, Dairy, Soy, Nut and Rice Free, and GMO Free.  I’ve used her bread mixes in the past and everything has always been great.   The bread mixes make great loaves of bread.  The pie crusts are wonderful.  The quick breads are amazing.  It’s the only mix I’ve ever found that creates a gluten free product that is so close to a gluten product that no one can tell the difference.

While looking at the products page on their website, I noticed a flat bread maker with a message “Sorry we’re sold out.”  Well, that got my attention.  What was so good was that it was sold out and how was it being used.  Someone was making flat bread with the mix.  Well, of course I had to get my hands on a VillaWare Grand Wrap Flat Bread Maker.

Finally last night it was time.  I had the flat bread maker, the mix, and the directions from the website.  I followed the directions and created a wet fluffy mix.   I spooned it onto the flat bread maker and closed the lid.  Now you have to pulse the lid down to help the steam escape.  That was interesting.

I made my bread thin like a wrap. I filled it with roasted vegetables and a spread of hummus.  The finished product was a huge hit with everyone.  I’m very excited.  The possibilities are endless.  I can use this to make the gluten free flat bread, pita chips, crackers, pizza crusts and more.  For someone who had not been able to eat these items for some time this is exciting news.

Anna, thank you for making such great products.  Thank you for sharing the many uses of those products to improve our allergy free lives.
